Despite the fact that a Cincy loss could've meant #NotreDame getting into the #CFBPlayoff, new #FightIrish Head Coach @Marcus_Freeman1 said he couldn't root against his former team this past weekend. Freeman was the #Bearcats DC from 2017-2020 pic.twitter.com/oHLYyIbO5t

Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman admitted on the Dan Patrick Show today that he could not help but root for Cincinnati to win even if it meant Notre Dame would lose out on the final playoff spot.
Honestly who could blame him? Freeman recruited and developed a lot of relationships with those same Cincinnati Bearcats players when he was their DC under Luke Fickell before coming to Notre Dame.
It's good to see Notre Dame have a stand-up coach who is loved by his players and his peers.
Go Irish!
